The day before, I saw the illumination of Kifune Shrine,
and the next day, I went to worship there first thing in the morning!
This is the head shrine of about 500 shrines nationwide.
It is unknown when it was founded, but it is said to have been built before the capital was moved to Heian.
It is said that the main shrine was built in the 6th year of Hakuho (677) during the reign of Emperor Tenmu.
The nearest station is called "Kibuneguchi", which sounds muddy, but Kifune Shrine is pronounced "Kifune".
It is said that the wish is put into it so that the clear water will not become muddy!
As you go from downstream to upstream, Kifune is divided into the main shrine, the association, and the inner shrine.
The highlights of the main shrine are
①Ryusenkaku (resting place)
The autumn leaves🍁 that can be seen from here are the best!
②Statues of two horses
In the past, black horses were offered to pray for rain, and white horses were offered to pray for the rain to stop.
This was abbreviated and became ema.
This is said to be the origin of ema.
③Mizuuranai Omikuji
When you float it on water, the letters appear.
If you come to Kifune, you can't miss this!
④Sacred water
For an offering of 500 yen, you can put it in a container and take it home. Of course, you can bring your own container!
