[Ayutthaya Tour] Second Stop! Mahathat Temple, famous for its Bodhi Tree Buddha Statue

Traveling through Ayutthaya, you'll easily come across decapitated or legless Buddha statues, as well as collapsed and leaning pagodas. These are testaments to the devastation inflicted by the Burmese Empire (Myanmar) when they invaded Ayutthaya, and the temple remains largely intact, unrestored.
The most famous of these is the Bodhi tree at the Ma Sathat Temple. It's said that a tree grew where the severed head of a Buddha statue fell, forming its current form. The traces of war simply prickled my heart as a tourist.
