#springitinerary Is one of those low-key temples in Kyoto that totally surprises you. It’s got all the classic temple stuff, huge gates, pretty gardens, a pagoda but without the big crowds. The vibe here is super peaceful, like you're just walking through history without all the tourist noise.
The real showstopper? The cherry blossoms. Ninna-ji is famous for its late-blooming sakura, so even if you miss peak season in Kyoto, you might still catch the magic here. People come just to see the pink trees light up the temple ground, it's like walking through a dream.
Inside, the buildings have that classic Kyoto elegance. Wooden walkways, sliding doors, and little garden views everywhere. It’s also the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism, so there’s a lot of quiet spiritual energy around too.
Perfect for a mellow afternoon when you just want to breathe, wander, and feel some old-school Kyoto calm.
